Download Tcptrace

Supported Platforms
The program is developed and maintained on Sun Sparc machines running Solaris 2.6.

In addition, the program has been compiled and tested here at OU under:

NetBSD 1.3.2
FreeBSD 2.2.1
Linux 2.0.34

I've also been told that it works under HPUX, and SGI's Unix, but I don't have one of either to test it.

Bill Fenner faithfully keeps the FreeBSD "port" up to date. His official information for building tcptrace under FreeBSD can be found at http://www.freebsd.org/ports/net.html

The latest widely-verified version is 5.1.0. It seems to run fine on the systems that I've tested it on (Solaris / FreeBSD / NetBSD / LinuxPPC / Linux586). I suspect that it'll also compile fine under other Unix variants.
Version 5 includes support for IPv6 and output filtering based on internal counters. There's also a small handful of bug fixes, some enhancements to some of the modules, and misc...

Source code for latest version of tcptrace is available HERE. If you're in a hurry or otherwise not in the mood to compile somebody else's program, you can find some trusted binaries HERE, but please read the README, first. Current version information is in the CHANGES file.

I sometimes release some bug-fixed source code AFTER the files shown above, but they probably hasn't been tested on any platform other than Solaris 2.6. Although I doubt that I've introduced anything that would keep it from compiling and/or running correctly on different platforms, I haven't had a chance to verify that, so you'd be obliged to send me back bug reports if you find any problems. That being said, THIS DIRECTORY. contains the source code for all of the versions that I've released.
The previous released version, and the one that seemed to compile just about anyplace, is version 4.1.3. Source code for version 4.1.3 of tcptrace is available HERE. If you're in a hurry or otherwise not in the mood to compile somebody else's program, you can find some trusted binaries HERE, but please read the README, first. Current version information is in the CHANGES file.
